Change of speed limit on I-70?

Change might be a brewing in Eagle County where several Eagle County officials want to lower the speed limits on I-70, east of Vail. The Eagle County Public Safety Counsel has asked the Colorado Department of Transportation to consider lowering the speed limit from 75 mph to 65 mph between Edwards and Eagle. A study by the Eagle County Department of Health and Human Services found that 11 people die from vehicle crashes in Eagle County each year and the death rate for crashes is 20% higher than the statewide rate and most of these deaths occur on I-70.
