Yesterday's thunderstorm in the Denver metro area serves as a good reminder that May is typically cloudy and wet. The storm dropped .62 inches of rain and hail for almost twenty minutes. The storm also reminds us to keep safe driving in mind when driving in bad weather and pay attention to the possibility of flash flooding -- especially in Colorado.

Driving in bad weather is a major cause of automobile crashes. When driving, stay tuned to radio reports about weather conditions, If you hear that a tornado, flood, hail or other severe weather is expected on your route, change travel plans. And remember, if you are already in an area that is being hit by bad weather, don't try and drive your way out of it. Seek shelter for you and your car and wait it out.
