The American Association for Justice released a report today regarding medical malpractice insurance. The study shows that medical malpractice insurers are taking advantage of doctors by raising insurance premiums and driving up the costs of health care.

These same insurance companies have claimed that the nation has a malpractice crisis. However, there is no such crisis, instead we have an insurance crisis. Insurance rates for doctors are very high but insurance company malpractice losses have fallen almost 50% in three years. For every dollar received in premiums from doctors, the insurance companies are paying out just 39 cents in claims.
