On Monday morning, a United Airlines flight en route from Los Angeles to Chicago, had to land in Denver due to severe turbulence.

As soon as the plane landed, paramedics came on scene to take two flight attendants and eight passengers that were injured on board to a nearby hospital.

The plane landed at 3:00am according to the Denver International Airport and the plane checked out ok for maintenance issues. A new flight crew came on board to the plane and it re-departed and safely arrived in Chicago at 9:40am.

Research from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) states that turbulence alone won't bring a plane down, however it can trigger a chain of events that lead into tragedy. NTSB also states that significant turblence incidents occur every other day on commercial flights nationwide and it always important to have your safety belt on when this does occur.
