Where have all the dogs gone?

Aurora began enforcing its restricted-breed ban on Wednesday, February 1. While pit-bull-like dogs were the focus of this action, the ban includes other large, potentially aggressive breeds such as Staffordshire terriers and American bulldogs.

With this ban, Aurora joined other cities in Colorado, including Denver and Castle Rock. Other communites are considering either a ban or more restrictive vicious-dog fules to avoid becoming pit-bull havens.

Before the ban was approved, the city had a total of 365 licensed dogs now considered restricted breeds. At the beginning of the month, only 151 had been registered which begged the question: Are people not registering their dogs or did half of those dogs disappear?

I think part of this new law will be a good thing, as for example the Pit Bulls, although! There are GOOD Pit bulls! A dog is generally what you make him! Most Pit Bulls in our town in the South the people fight them, although, for example I have a friend with two and she has twin girls and the dogs could not be sweeter!

My family ,my husband, myself and our 18 year old son own a 140 pound Rottweiller, a 68 pound Lab, and now a four month old American Bulldog, she weighs already 40 pounds. I would never buy another breed from now on but an American Bulldog! I believe these so called law making people should do their research, including being around American Bulldogs!!!! I do not think you people do enough research, all you do is say, they "look mean"! Well, find out the complete truth and facts about them first! My Lab is absolutley too sweet! My Rottweiller, yes,is protective, but he would lick you silly if you came into my home unless you were an"uninvited" person, like a theif! Our Bulldog is absolutley the most beautiful, sweetest, loveling, attentive, affectionate pet we have ever owned! Well, except our chocolate Lab,Jake who died awhile back, if you could call a dog a gentelman, he was one,I still cry over him!

Anyway, Get rid of the society of people who are giving these dogs bad names, not the dogs! True there are some bad dogs, I agree, but, only from background, and raisingthem wrong and chains, and ropes and hot sun, and flies and NO LOVE!!!!
